Spring Exchange Gallery & Exhibits

Exhibit open through June, web gallery online!

We invite you to view a sampling of the works created by youth in our spring 2010 Exchange.

Throughout the past several months, youth from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and youth from Brattleboro, Vermont participated in Exposures classes in their local communities, creating and exchanging several photographic projects exploring their lives, communities and landscapes.

Our web gallery and spring exhibits feature the Double Exposures project.  After each shooting a roll of film in their home community, youth from the reservation in South Dakota mailed their film to Vermont youth participants, who exposed the same rolls of film for a second time.  The collaboration resulted in multi-layered and abstract images combining perspectives of community from the two diverse locations.

Please join us in congratulating our youth participants on their gorgeous work!  View and comment on images from the project online, or if you are in the area, stop by a community exhibit.

An exhibit of prints will be on display in Vermont at the In-Sight Photography Project Gallery through the end of June.  Visit In-Sight to view the work during Brattleboro’s Gallery Walk on June 4th, or anytime during gallery hours.

In-Sight Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday 9:30-5:30
